Summary This week where doing an assignment called master mines it is a website where we find minerals and we had find out what the unknown mineral was by doing different tests on the mineral. While we did the tests it told us what each of the test do and what they are for and we took that information and transferred it ( in our own words) onto our Google doc. I did not think that the color could help you find out what type of mineral it is. Surprise This week while I was doing the boxes reasearch questions I had fiquered out the answer to that question it was sodium chloride but when I typed that password in it said I was wrong so then when Ms. Garcia and Miles R. told me that sodium chloride was another name for salt,I was very surprised becuase I did not know that but now I do. Summary This week in class we had to finish the boxes reasearch paper and the copmounds reasearch paper,and while I was finishing those I had learned that it is a mixture is when  it contains two (or more) substances that are not chemically joined together and it is a  molecule when  t he substances in a mixture can often be easily separated from one another. Surprise  I was surprised when we where examining the crystals after we pet them in the water and it looked like salt an the unknown the way they dissolved looked the same at first I thought it was epsom salt but then it turned out to be salt. Summary I learned that different types of crystals if one looks like the other from a daily view don't just expect it to be that because to find the answer you have to run more tests like what we did. Backward The only thing I knew about this topic is that we did some other crystal experiments the week before but besides that I never really did any thing like it.Now I learned that when you dissolve the crystals after a while you really know what is  the unknown crystal is. Surprise My surprise this week was when today we were crushing the crystals and I originally thought that the unknown crystal was Epsom salt but I found almost enough information to say for sure it's sugar.  summary This week I learned that different crystals look very different and the sound they make are very different.I learned that even if they look the same they are very different shapes and sounds when you look at them closely.
