Severe Weather Project Reflection

Image
During this project I  learned that tornadoes are one of the strongest natural disasters and they can cause lots of damage.I learned that snowstorms are worse than what they seem because they can knock out power  and very important things.  Backward I knew that tornadoes were very dangerous but I did not know that tornadoes had winds that could go up to 300 MPH.I did not know much about winter  storms but now I know that they are very powerful and can knock out many important things and that they are very dangerous. Inward  I think during our project we did a good job of planning it and editing it.We had some struggles but in the end we worked it out and did a good job. Outward  There was only one other group that did the tipe of project we did so we did not do it similar  to them because they made there film all one shoot while we did it in many shoots and put it all together. Forward One thing i would have liked to add was some more effect

12/12 tornadoes

Image
When I was studying tornadoes this week I learned that tornadoes commonly happen the most in T exas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, North Dakota, Iowa, Missouri, Arkansas and Louisiana. Backward i did not know much about tornadoes before i studied them but now i know that they need moist air that comes from the gulf of Mexico and cool dry air that comes from Canada .  Inward   This week I think Abram,Raul and I are making good progress because we have already all our  facts and we are almost ready to do the video.

12/5 atmosphere

Image
I learned that weather only occurs in the troposphere. There is 4 layers of the atmosphere. The theremosphere is divided in to two layers the i onosphere and the exosphere.I also learned what all the layers do Trposphere: weather only occurs in that layer.Stratosphere: the layer that protects earth from harmful rays . Messosphere: where metiors burn up.Theremosphere: where space shuttles fly. Backward I did not know much about the atmosphere until now.Know i know that the Messosphere is where metiors burn up. Inward This week i am satisfied with what i did because in my opinion i got what i wanted done and I almost the entire time i  was on task and doing my work.

reflective blog for the Mr. Cuttatree project

Image
summary This week we discussed " Deforestation". Deforestation is a shortened word for cutting down trees.Deforestation is a process of cutting down trees. It is not good for the environment. Many things can happen because of deforestation such as loss of oxygen, greenhouse gasses expanding and animal extiction. backward I have not learned anything about deforestation untill this unit. Now I know that deforestation is not good for us or the enviroment. inward In this project I think i did a good job because in my opinion I was on task and getting my work done. The only thing i disliked was that I know i could have and should have done better. outward I think I did simallar work like others because Evan,Abram and I worked a little together so we might have simallar work. forward One thing I would like to improve on is being able to write blogs like this or big blogs like the Mr. Cuttatree blog with effencentcy daily.

11/14 deforestation

Image
I have learned that deforestation is the removal of a forest or a stand of trees. I have also learned that deforestation should not happen because if it does this is something that might happen.    It increases the speed of erosion in deforested areas, as there are no tree roots to hold the soil together.   backward I really did not know much about deforestation, but know i know that deforestation is not a good thing. Lots of bad things can happen such as oxygen lossege, greenhouse gasses expanded, soil erosion, etc. inward  This week i thnk that i did good, I am happy that this week  I was able to finish my letter to Mr/ Cuttatree.

letter to Mr. Cuttatree

Dear Mr. Cuttatree I heard that you are thinking about cutting lots of trees in the rainforest and building the uppity resort.I know you should not because by cutting all these trees we will have a massive loss of oxygen, green house gasses will expand and there will be a massive animal extinction.  My first reason you should not build your resort is by cutting down the trees there will be a massive loss of oxygen. This will happen because the leaves make photosynthesis which produces glucose and it "feeds" the mitochondria which produces oxygen. If you cut the trees down there will be a massive loss in oxygen.  My second reason you should not build your resort is by cutting down the trees there will be a massive expand in green house gasses. This will happen because when they grow the trees remove carbon dioxide and replace it with oxygen which also prevents climate change. So if you cut down the trees there will be a massive expand in green house gasses.  My third reas

11/7 american crocodile

I have learned thatt the female american  crocodile    will build a nest of loose dirt in a mound by the water's edge and lay 35 to 50 eggs.I have also learned that a dults feed mostly at night on fish, crabs, turtles, snakes, and small mammals. backward I almost did not know anything about the american crocodile but now i know that the american crocodile is an endangered speices. They are endangered because they are hunted by people and sold for their skins. inward in this project i think i did a good job but, i think i myself should have added the part about them being endangered and sold for their skins.

10/31 "Interdependence of Organisms - 2

Image
This is an example of commensalism. The bird is eating the bugs inside the alligator. This is commensalism  becasue the bird is getting food and the alligator  is geting a cleaning in his teeth.  I have learned that symbosis is when two organsims interact.I have also learned that there is three tipes of symbosis. There is commensallsm, mutualism, and parasitism. Backward  I did not know anything about symbosis before we started. Now i know that symbosis is when organsims interact and  that there is three tipes of symbosis. Inward This week i found satisfying that i was able to get all my work done and not have anything late.

10/24 Interdependence of Organisms - 1

summary yestarday i learned that everthing gets it's energy from something.I also learned that everthing(at the end)gets it's energy from the sun. Backward-Looking Reflection i did not know anything about the topic before we started this unit. Now i know that everthing gets it's energy from something. Inward-Looking  Reflection   This week i did not do fantastic with my work but i did not do badly,so i thing this week i did bit above avarage.I hope i can be fantastic with my work next week.

nervous system

Image
Function : The nervous system controls sight, hearing, taste, smell, and feeling (sensation). It also controls voluntary and involuntary functions, such as movement, balance, and coordination. The nervous system also regulates the actions of most other body systems, such as blood flow and blood pressure. As well as the ability to think and reason. T he nervous system allows you to be conscious and have thoughts, memories, and language. Organs : The nervous system consists of the brain, spinal cord, sensory organs, and all of the nerves that connect these organs with the rest of the body. The brain is one of the most important organs in the body. It's where information is processed and responses originate. The brain, also controls higher mental functions such as consciousness, memory, planning, and voluntary actions, also controls lower body functions such as the maintenance of respiration, heart rate, blood pressure, and digestion. The function of the spinal cord is to s

urinary system

Image
The function of the urinary system is to get rid of liquid waste and soluble waste. The organs of the urinary system are the kidneys, which remove liquid waste from the body in a for of urine,    keep a stable balance of salts and other substances in the blood, and produce a hormone that aids the formation of red blood cells. The ureters, which carry urine from the kidneys to the bladder. As well as the bladder which stores urine and the urethra, which allows urine to travel outside of the body. Interactions : The urinary system works with the circulatory system. Blood that goes through the circulatory system also passes through at least one of your kidneys. As well as waste travels through your bloodstream and once it reaches the kidneys it's cleaned and water is returned. Analogy :  Kidneys are like the dam itself because the kidneys filter out waste from the blood just like the dam affects the quality of the water by changing the amount of oxygen and the temperature

Skeletal System

Image
Function : The Skeletal System allows your body to move, provides structure, produces blood in the bone marrow, and protects your organs. The organs in the skeletal system are the bones, ligaments and joints, tendons, cartilage, pivot hinge, gliding joints and ball and socket joints. The function of the bones are not only to provide support and protection to the viscera (with the help of muscles attached to them) but also produces blood cells for the body from the bone-marrow. The function of the ligament and joints is to allow the bone to move in a particular direction and hence enhances the movement of body parts in desired direction. The tendons job is to join the muscles to the bones, hence they are more flexible so as to provide greater range of movement. Cartilage not only plays a role in maintaining and forming the shape of human ear and nose as well as other organs, but also protects the bones against friction forces, or else the bones would corrode easily. The pivot join

Muscular system

Image
The function of the muscular system is to allow you to move.It also lets your bones move. The organs are the three muscle types, the Visceral muscle, the cardiac, and skeletal muscle. The smooth muscle (visceral) is found inside of organs like the stomach, intestines, and blood vessels. The cardiac muscle is found only in the heart, and it is responsible for pumping blood throughout the body. And last the skeletal muscle, it is the only muscle that is controlled consciously. Every physical action that a person performs (e.g. speaking, walking, or writing) requires skeletal muscle. Most skeletal muscles are attached to two bones across a joint, so the muscle serves to move parts of those bones closer to each other. Interactions : The muscular system works with the nervous system, that makes sense since you usually have to think before you can move. the neurons of the nervous system are connected to most of the cells in your muscular system. So when you think to move s

Digestive system

Image
. The function of the digestive system is to break down food and separate the waste from the nutrients and then it  absorbs the nutrients so they can be delivered to the circulatory system for disputation.it also gets rid of waste. T he organs are the m outh:  Were the food is chewed,  e sophagus:   Transports food from the mouth to the stomach, s tomach:  Principally the organ where food is broken into smaller units,  Small Intestine : Aids in digestion and nutrient absorption,  Liver:    Aids in the metabolism of carbohydrates, fats and proteins.  Large Intestine:   Functions primarily to absorb water, dry out indigestible foods and eliminate waste products. \ Interactment: The digestive works with the circular system so it can get the absorbed nutrients distributed through your body. The digestive system also works with the excretory system, The digestive system collects and removes undigested solids, while the excretory system filters compounds from the blood stream

respiratory system

Image
he function of the respiratory system is to provide oxygen to the body and get rid of carbon dioxide that the body produces., The organs of the respiratory system are the nose, pharynx ,voice box, trachea, bronchi and lungs. The nose is the primary upper respiratory organ in which air enters into and exits from the body. Besides the nose, air can enter into the lungs through the mouth. The pharynx is a tubular structure, that allows air to pass from the mouth to the lungs. The Larynx also known as the voice box, has two main functions: a passageway for air to enter into the lungs, and a source of vocalization. The main function of the trachea is to provide a clear airway for air to enter and exit the lungs. The trachea also produces mucus that traps dust and other contaminants and prevents it from reaching the lungs. The bronchi allow the passage of air to the lungs. Respiration is the most important function of the lungs, which includes the transfer of oxygen into the

Ciraculatory System

Image
Function : The circulatory system's function is to give oxygen to the blood, for the blood to give to the body. It does this by taking the oxygen poor blood through the lungs to give it oxygen. Then it sends the oxygen rich blood to the body.   Organs :  The organs in the circulatory are the heart, which pumps the blood to the arteries and the veins. Then there is the arteries which carry the oxygen rich blood to the body. The veins carry the oxygen poor blood to the heart or lungs. Another organ in the circulatory system is the lungs. The lungs give the oxygen poor blood oxygen. In the heart specifically, the right ventricle, the pulmonary artery, left atrium, left ventricle, aorta, right atrium. How it works with the others: The circulatory system works with other systems as it touches every organ and system in your body. The reason it is connected to every system and organ is so it can transport oxygen efficiently. Also the circulatory system and its fluids are super imp

9/26 organelle trail

This week I learned that the nucleus is like the leader because  it controls cell activities.I also learned that mitocronrdria  uses sugar to produce energy and power the plant. I have done some work like this in the past, in third grade we did some research on cells. We learned about plant cells like chroplast and cell walls. We also saw many diagrams of plants and were the different cells where located.

9/19 the cell

I learned that all living things are made of composed cells.I also learned that all cells come from other cells. I did not know much about the topic before but now I know more things such as cells are the basic units of  of any living thing

i learned that science is exiting i am confident about the scientific method i wish you would let us play zondle in our free time

letter to the school broad

Dear Board of Education, Science class should continue. This is so because we learn lots of  important information .We use science every day. Also many kids love science. One of the many reasons that science class should continue are science develops numeracy. this can help us in many subjects and our everyday lives.it also helps us learn how to collect data. Another reason we should keep science is that science is inclusive.science is inclusive because it helps us in our every day lives.it also develops self confidence.it makes everybody feel the same way. Thirdly, science crosses into many other subjects.some of the subjects it crosses into are math and geography in science we use lots of numbers like math.we also use location like in geography. I know that you thing that everything can be found on the internet but i disagree i know that not everything can be found on the internet. These are some reasons that science class should continue.

welcome

some things that i like about this class are that we will have lots of fun projecs,we use computers, and we do lots of experaments.
