respiratory system

he function of the respiratory system is to provide oxygen to the body and get rid of carbon dioxide that the body produces.,

The organs of the respiratory system are the nose, pharynx ,voice box, trachea, bronchi
and lungs. The nose is the primary upper respiratory organ in which air enters into and exits from the body. Besides the nose, air can enter into the lungs through the mouth. The pharynx is a tubular structure, that allows air to pass from the mouth to the lungs. The Larynx also known as the voice box, has two main functions: a passageway for air to enter into the lungs, and a source of vocalization. The main function of the trachea is to provide a clear airway for air to enter and exit the lungs. The trachea also produces mucus that traps dust and other contaminants and prevents it from reaching the lungs. The bronchi allow the passage of air to the lungs. Respiration is the most important function of the lungs, which includes the transfer of oxygen into the blood stream and the release of carbon dioxide into the air.

Interaction: The respiratory system interacts with a couple other body systems. It interacts with the circulatory system because when you breath in oxygen the circulatory takes it and uses it for it's purpose. The respiratory system also interacts with the digestive system. Your mouth and pharynx are both used to swallow and to breath. Your respiratory system even connects with the nervous system in your nose where you smell.

Analogy:

Each part of the tree is just like some parts of the respiratory system. The leaves of the tree act the same as the lungs because the leaves absorb oxygen and release carbon dioxide, just like the lungs. The branches separates like the bronchi does from the larynx. The branches extend out to the leaves like the bronchi extends. The trees roots are like the larynx. They are similar because the roots connect to the tree's trunk, like the larynx connects to the trachea. The tree trunk supports the tree just like the trachea supports the respiratory system.

Structure and function: The trachea's structure, which is a bone tube, similar to the esophagus, helps it do it's job. Which is to provide a clear airway for air to enter and exit the lungs. Having a slightly large circumference is good so air can pass clearly through from the nose to the lungs and back again. As well as it is a sturdy bone, so it helps in the trachea's small part in keeping the respiratory system stay up.
